Every person who was impacted by Anneewakee has a story. Some are only a few sentences long, some would take volumes to completely and accurately record. This project attempts to bring together these stories. To compile them, and then let the world know the truth about what happened there.
Joining the project is simple. All you need to do is submit a story or share your ideas. The best way is to join this site, join the development team in The Book Forum and upload your story to the Book Documents page. If you would prefer to not join the site, you can email your story or get a mailing address from

This has been in the works for quite some time. We have more work to do just to define what the "book" is, and how is will be published. We can work out those details in time. The most important thing is that we start getting the stories collected.
We must collect as many stories as we can in any format that we can get them. In text, Microsoft Word, I think even scans of artwork, whatever. Can't type but want your story told? Record it and send it. We will transcribe it for you! Don't know how to record on your computer? Ask the webmaster how to send a tape. We will take whatever format you want to send.
We will take all forms of submissions. If someone wants to write a story about their time there, that is fine. If someone wants to sumbit a poem, that is fine, too. An account of one incident that changed their life is good. How about how being there impacts you as an adult. Be creative. Let the world know the good, the bad and the ugly.
This is our chance to tell the truth. It simply isn't right for us to keep these stories to ourselves. What we experienced is just too important.
